How do we minimize the side effects of these beauty oils?
It’s not
every time that a natural product is always safe, for example essential oils can
cause skin irritation if you have allergies or a sensitive skin. Also, if a certain skincare product works well on your friend`s skin type it doesn’t mean that it
will work well on you.
Most of us here have tried a lot of different skin care
products which worked well on others but terribly on us.
Therefore, before using any essential oil please follow
these tips;
- Make it a point that you dilute your essential oil with a carrier oil like almond, olive, avocado, coconut or jojoba before soothing it on your skin. According to Wikipedia.
- Make sure you do a patch test inside your elbow joint before soothing it on your face so that you will at least have an idea if it won’t cause any irritation or inflammation.
- Eye area, lips and mucous membrane, broken, damaged and irritated skin area should be avoided while soothing your favorite essential oil
- In case of any irritation, please discontinue use
- Avoid soothing essential oils before going to the sun, the reason being, some essential oils are photo-toxic.
- It is vital to educate yourself on which essential oils to use when you are pregnant or while nursing. According to Wikipedia, this can be done by seeking guidance from a certified aromatherapist.
